that on March 3, 2021, the Director of the GdaĆsk Shakespeare Theater, Professor Jerzy Limon, passed away.
No words can describe the emptiness we have in our hearts.
Time has stopped.
“The word that could not be missing from my biography is ⊠persistence” – he once confessed for a purpose of a book devoted to GdaĆsk cultural creators.
Outstanding English philologist, literary scholar, writer, translator and theatrologist, professor of humanities, initiator and director of the GdaĆsk Shakespeare Theater. An admirer and promoter of Shakespeare’s work, Chairman of the ESFN Council. A great man full of inner warmth and artistic sensitivity. A visionary who spread his passion to everyone around him.
Professor Jerzy Limon believed in miracles, especially for his theater. He also believed in the muses and the higher ones that support us. We believe that where he has gone, he is surrounded by a group of great artists.
