During the 27th Shakespeare Festival in Gdańsk ESFN meeting took place. It was a great oppotunity to see captivating performances, thought-provoking discussions, and fruitful exchanges of ideas and future plans.

ESFN had a fruitfull discussion with the team of the National Academic Drama Theatre from Ivano-Frankivsk.  We were buzzing with ideas and enthusiasm as we talked about potential collaborations and plans for 1st edition of Shakespeare festival in Ivano-Frankivsk!

Shakespere Festivals directors were invited to the premiere of “Do You Know All Of Them” performance.

The choreography and performance by Anna Godowska, directed by Sławek Krawczyński, is a study of female characters from William Shakespeare’s dramas “The Tempest,” “Hamlet,” and “Macbeth.”

An important motif of the play is an attempt to delve into the secrets of these characters. For this purpose, the artists utilize their method of working with dreams and the unconscious, which they have been developing for 20 years. Thanks to this method, they often make entirely unexpected discoveries.

The play was created at the artistic residency in the Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre.  The premiere  and production was part of the grant from The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – EFFEA. Thank you for support!

27th Shakespeare Festival in Gdańsk was also the last stop on SHAKESPHERE tour .”The Tragedy of Macbeth,” directed by Henry Maynard at the Flabbergast Theatre (UK). This exceptional and magical interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy stayed true to the original text while incorporating Grotowski’s influences.

The performance transported the audience into a mysterious world of Macbeth, immersing us in a gripping and haunting atmosphere. The live music, skillfully intertwined with butoh dance, added an extra layer of darkness and intensity to the play, making it an unforgettable experience.
