8th Shakespeare Festival in Serbia 2nd-6th July 2021

8th Shakespeare Festival in the beautiful ambience of Villa Stanković will come to life again.
The tragedy of Hamlet „by the famous Peter Brook, performed by the French troupe Des Lumières et des Ombres, will open the 8th Shakespeare Festival at Villa Stanković in Čortanovci on July 2.
The next day, the National Theater of Bitola will perform the play „History of motherfuckers – Korolian” directed by one of the most important contemporary directors in our country, Andraš Urban.
„My Shakespeare” according to the concept of Nikita Milivojevic, conceived in 2019 as a three-year project in which some of the most important regional actors in some way present their Shakespeare to the audience, is on the program on July 4.
The famous „Macbeth” by Sardegna Teatro / Compagnia Teatroperson from Italy is planned for October. After the Sibiu Festival, the Hong Kong Festival, the Plato Festival in Russia, the Zagreb World Theater Festival, the Barbican Center in London … as part of the Shakespeare Festival program, and the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad.
Italian critics declared „Macbeth” the best play in 2017 – it is the winner of the most significant Italian award in the field of performing arts, a kind of Oscar of Italian theater – The Premio Ubu Award 2017.
