We are glad to announce that this year edition of Summer Shakespeare Festival in Ostrava will be held on 24th July- 12th August.

This year, the varied program will begin with ” The Winter Tale” traditionally performed at the Silesian-Ostrava Castle. Viewers can especially look forward to „Hamlet” – the production of Prague colleagues, starring Hynek Čermák and Jaroslav Plesl. Another bright point in the programme is very popular comedy ” The Merry Wives of Windsor” with Bolek Polívka as well as „The Comedy of Errors”. For the final of the festival we will present the a last years hit – „Taming of the Shrew”.

Premiere of „The Tempest”, originally planned this year, was delayed till 2021.

This year will be different. Maybe more adventurous, but certainly a lot of fun. Although it was necessary to shorten the program, the audience will not lose their favorite performances. We will start selling tickets to the auditoriums with a reduced number of seats. And we will then adapt the sale to the current situation. In the event that we are forced to stop the event and not play, we will return the entrance fee to the spectators. We gratefully accept the necessary peace and security that the festival partners provide us with in our actions, „say the organizers about the current situation. The priority of the organizers is safety.

Tickets and other information:

Tickets can be purchased from June 3, 2020 on the festival website and in the Ticketmaster sales network. Viewers will be informed about news and possible changes via and on social networks.
